PLATES AND MOLDS
In this four-week workshop, open to all levels of experience, we will create a plate by hand or on the potters wheel,
then replicate it by creating a plaster mold. This experience is a good opportunity for advanced potters to integrate
texture and carvings as well as explore the options of sprigs and other decorative attachments. It is also a great
way for first Saturday will be wet working creating the plate. The second Saturday we will be creating plaster molds
of our clay plates. The remaining two weeks we will be replicating our piece using the plaster molds. Demos will
include carving and applying sprigs, building a mold, mixing and pouring plaster and throwing on to a plaster mold.
MIXED LEVEL POTTERY
Beginners welcome! This seven- week class is designed to explore the art of pottery making with all levels in mind.
Students will work primarily on the potter’s wheel but will also investigate off wheel and hand building techniques.
Demonstration will include bowls, jars, vases, cups and mugs. Glaze instruction and slide presentation included.
SLIPS AND SURFACE DESIGN
Would you like to further your understanding of slips and ceramic surface treatment, or just learn some new glaze
application tips? This short but intensive four week class will explore various slip and under glaze techniques,
including inlay, slip trailing and masking techniques. We will also explore glaze patterning and layering techniques.
Come sharpen you surface skills and explore the use of decoration to further develop your own personal narrative.
